Looking for an RPG to buy

In SNES

I have a bunch of cash left in the form of and EBay.com gift certificate, and I'm thinking of spending some of it on building my SNES RPG collection.

My current SNES collection consists of:

Secret of Mana
Chrono Trigger
Super Mario World
Super Mario All-Stars
Donkey Kong Country
Mortal Kombat
Street Fighter 2010 II
Aladdin
Cal Ripken Jr. Baseball
Super Mario RPG
Illusion of Gaia

I have about $61 US to spend from the looks of things. I was thinking of getting Soul Blazer, but I can get a better deal for it not on EBay. Killer Instinct is a cool throwin game, but it's so cheap to buy. I was thinking possibly Earthbound, or maybe instead getting Street Fighter 2010 Alpha II and a cheaper game (RPG). I'm not a huge fan of Final Fantasy so they're mostly out of the picture, at least for now.

Any adVice?

Either Breath of Fires 1 or 2 They're awesome games!

I played the beginning of one of those.... it seemed a little bland, but I hear it's great once you get dragon POWers or something to that extent. Would you agree with me on this?

Well, Donkey Kong Country isn't an RPG.
But that's an AWESOME collection you have.
Go for earthbound!

Thanks, Earthbound is under consideration. I've played some of it and it was cool but I didn't totally get into it right away. I'll give it another try before I buy. I managed to get NHL '96 today also because by gf bought it for me as a gift which was totally awesome. Other than Earthbound (non-RPG stuff), I'm considering getting Mortal Kombat 2, Earthworld Jim 2, Yoshi's Island and / or Street Fighter 2010 Alpha 2. I'm just so indecisive.

Street Fighter 2010 II: Turbo is good, if you're looking for a fighter.

I played Earthbound again today, and I want to get it for sure. There's no buy-it-now deals on EBay.com that will ship to Canada right now though, so I might have to wait, or are they really rare? Maybe I should just bid.

ever heard of Soul Blazer?
if you Consider that an RPG.
if not, then i don't know.

I've played through Soulblazer before. It's just too easy to play through. I guess replayability is high because it's simple but it's not a full RPG experience. I'm going for Earthbound because it's simple yet still challenging.

I found a cool game called Street Combat today which I bought for very little money, and it is relatively amusing. Plus, Illusion of Gaia and Super Mario RPG are coming in the mail, it's too bad Canada Post turned 7-10 days into about 3+ weeks.

Last time I looked Earthbound Complete was going for like $300

Wow, where are you looking? I can get it loose locally for less than $50 CDN, and this is from a guy that normally charges a lot for games.

I researched I guess I embelished a little .... but it was going for a lot

NICE! I didn't know you could search ended items. That's awesome.

It comes in handy

I know for sure I can get it for under $65 US. It's around every so often on EBay.com buy-it-now for semi-reasonable prices. I just got Illusion of Gaia and Super Mario RPG today in the mail, fun fun. That should keep me amused, along with Chrono Trigger, which I got for Christmas, until I find a deal I can't refuse for Earthbound.

I would definately pick up Final Fantasy II and III. Great games, must haves for SNES.

II is out on the GBA in the form of Final Fantasy IV Advance. Better translation, and a $30 USD price tag (vs the $50 - $60 or more for the SNES version) and FFIII (FFVI) is coming out on the DS all remastered to the 3D art style of Crystal Chronicles. (FFV, and FFIII are getting the same treatment on the DS)

Much better options. Thanks I didn't know that. Just got back into gaming.

I don't even like Final Fantasy at all. I tried playing 1, 2 and 3 and all left me bored for about half an hour, at which point I turned them off.

Right now, I'm amused with Illusion of Gaia, that game is bloody amazing from start to finish. Let's just say I bought it after beating it 2-3 times because I know I'll be replaying it enough to make it worthwhile.

if you like that game so much get, soul Blazer, its in the series, as well as one i forget its name.

Terranigma? It's only on Super Famicom and PAL SNES, lol. I sort of have mixed feelings about that game anyway, specifically because the magic system blows.

yeah thats what it was called.
