Strange Things Happen
By Jeff Turner on 1/12/2005 3:02:26 PM
I'm sorry but this game really sucks.
Whoever created it knew how to aggravate people and had a twisted sense of humor.
Please explain to me how else this strange scenario happened to me, more than once.....
I'm up 10-0, I have the bases loaded and nobody out. Suddenly - all 3 bases runners literally run off the damn screen!! Then it shows 3 outs.
Computer comes up next inning, scores 11 runs and wins.
This is no joke. Some geek-programmer created this to happen.
Please tell me others have had similar weird crap happen on this game. |

Holy shit. This is a classic. But confusing as hell. Controlling your outfield, and pitching at the same time is dumb as pictionary for NES.
The best way to play this...thing. is to over-load on that powder form Tea...late at night. And play it with a friend. Eventually, cheerleaders will parachute from the sky and wash your car! EXCITING!

You guys need to lay of tha weed!!!!!!!!!

I don't know why you guys dissin' this! I think this is a good baseball game. Y'all just mad cuz y'all suck at it! This is a good game. Period...
New Trick! When pitching, hold Up and slide your thumb to Left/Right and back to Up. Keep doing this for about 5 seconds, and then throw the ball while doing this. If you do this correctly, you'll throw an incredibly slow ball (which will make a very high pitch squeak) that you can freely move and is unhittable even if you steer it straight down the plate! Good for stopping your friend from scoring if he/she's up by a lot. |

Broke Game Over My Knee
By dragonballz on 1/21/2004 5:38:08 PM
This game is terrible, the last time that I played this game I was in tears, I was ahead of the computer in the 9th inning 10-2, after giving up 5 or 6 singles that turned into triples due to the fact that the programmers gave the outfielders the speed of 1 inch per hour, the computer then hit 4 home runs in the inning to win the game, I then broke the game over my knee, it was the smartest thing I ever did. Overall rating: Brutal, one out of one hundred

They could have done better.

The game doesn't have great graphics. But it was an early game. I bet they could have done better though. The gameplay is even worse. You cant control the running of the outfielders, and they run an inch per minute. A single is turned into a triple. This game could have been better

Pretty Crappy
By Eric on 1/31/2003 6:40:45 PM
This is probably one of the worst baseball games I have played in my life. The graphic's aren't very good, but the worst part is the gameplay. If the ball makes it into the outfield, forget about trying to throw the guy out. A simple single often turns into a tripple or inside the park home run, as the outfielders "run" inch by inch to retrieve the ball.
Avoid this title, and pick up RBI Baseball. |

Grade: F-

When the NES was released, Nintendo released a line of very shoddy sports titles to launch with the system. Golf, Tennis, and Baseball are the only ones I played, and they all have one element in common: they suck. The graphics do a poor job of showing off the system, they do indeed seem like direct ports from the Atari 2600. And the gameplay is just good enough to make it satisfactory, but not fun. See RBI Baseball or one of the Bases Loaded games for an example of what the NES was really capable of. This has horrid graphics and EXTREMELY limiting gameplay - you control very little of what goes on on the field and theres no statistics/team management of any sort.

When I think of this game, I think of Pong. I used these two games to settle arguments with friends and siblings because they were easy to play and over in a relatively short period of time.
Just like Pong however, this game gets boring in about 15 minutes. The graphics look like something from the Atari 2600 VCS and it's not worth wasting money on if you come across this cart at a garage sale or something.
