Karnov!

is what other game do you take the role of the russian firebreathing circus strong man Jinborov Karnovski, in search of the treasure of babylon? fighting enemies such as green-fish-guy-with-bag-and-hand-down-his-pants, and yoda-in-a-nest

Ah... yes.... it's about ninjas, so it HAS to rock!

My favorite storyline, huh? Everyone... take ONE guess...

Really hard to guess, but I'm good at guessing.

Ninja Gaiden, perhaps?

Dragon Warrior IV

I agree with you Rolfcityransom.

Man, I need to play that DW game. I own the first and third ones, but never even PLAYED the fourth one.... I need to see the story to it.

By the way, you know me so well, Manuel!

And what do you think of my cool Ninja smily?

I must vote for Bad Dudes.
It has ninjas, a kidnapping, and dudes. What other game covers the bases so well?
But Monster Party isn't too shabby either, with the moistened eyes and all.

I truly like the Ghosts 'n Goblins plot because it's light on text and gets the point across...even though it may be the ultimate cliche plot at the time.

You forgot the most important thing about Bad Dudes!

Easssssssily Ninja Gaiden series.

i tstill dont kno the best story in a game but i still love the Metroid Series's atory so very much

'Ninja Gaiden' is by far the best story in any game on the NES. The way it unfolded in the cinema displays with the emotional music and everything was just perfect at the time. The original 'Ninja Gaiden' was THE GAME that made me want to own an NES in the first place.

'Golgo 13: Top Secret Episode' has some interesting plot twists and characters in its storyline. Although the conversations are kind of generic, it was still put together well enough to make a somewhat average (albeit versatile) action game into something special.

Its not so much the story, but I have to mention 'NightShade' by Ultra. This point-and-click adventure has the most entertaining dialogue of just about any game I've ever played. It's definitely the funniest NES game, and one that made me L-O-L on several occassions.

And there you go.

For me, the best story has got to be Double Dragon III. To me its most interesting feature is some of the enemies joining the Double Dragons for future missions. It is this game that always gave that nostalgic feeling and I badly wanted to play it. I got the satisfaction after I downloaded FCE Ultra and the NES ROM.

I have to say Astyanax, just because it was so cheesy. For those who don't know...you're Astyanax, coming from the future, land in the past. You must save a princess who can teleport you back. You are assisted by a faerie named Cutie (and yes, she is). It eventually turns out you get teleported back, and reunited with Cutie. It's kinda lame, but it's one of those things where if they had a budget, they might have been on to something.

Yeah and the first 2 bosses are also the first 2 bosses on Super Castlevania 4

...

I totally agree, almost like watching a movie. Of course i get to control the actions.

I'd say Castevania 2 has the most unique storyline. As vampire killer, Simon Belmont, you are cursed from a previous battle with Dracula and the only way to breal the spell and save Transylvania is by gathering all of his body parts together, resurrecting him and kill him again.

...

Yeah, true. But, until 1988 there was no story like that. Now, Ninja Gaiden layed out like a movie for God-sakes.
