Phillips CD-i

In Other Classic Systems

There seems to be a little buzz about the Phillips CD-i going around the forums as of late. Here is a page that has a picture of the system, a little background on it, and the system specs. It even talk about a Mario game that was released.

Those graphics actually look really good!
I need a good working CD-i emulator.

Or an actual CD-i.

I wonder how history would have changed if Nintendo and Phillips had actually gone through with a callaberated CD console.

Well, your best bet would be the CD-i. I haven't checked Google yet, but at the bottom of that page, it says that there is one that plays only one game. If anyone has heard of one, let us know!

pre-rendered graphics usually do look good... but they don't move, or interact very well.

as for a CD-I emulator, the link that was posted states that there is only one, and it only plays a single game.

an actual CD-I? good luck, they're RARE.

and the gaming industry is filled with IFs, there have been so many deals and the like fall through over the years that I just usually ignore most of them until they happen.

the Playstation started out as a CD-ROM for the SNES, but then it fell through and we got that instead.

Rare?
Does this mean one has to get one?

I sometimes see them on eBay and some Japanese auctions and they are not that expensive.

A bit on the pricey side if these actions are anything to go by:

I like to laugh at Phillip's Link's cheezy lyrics he says! It cracks me up!

I've also read about a Super Mario World game for CD-I that was never finished.

Are those Zelda games on the CD-I even good? I heard really bad things about them.

Some people like them as it seems. But the majority hates the games. You'll probably have to try them for yourself to see.
As a collector's item for a Zelda lover the games might be worth owning.

"Oh boy! I'm so hugry! I can eat an octoroc!" Phillips doesn't have a clue of what The Ledgand of Zelda is really about.

I Have The Two Zelda Game!!! (they really look good)
Waiting on the emulator to come out to play them.
supposetly it B ready this Month
