I first played this game in 1987 when my sister's friend had it. She always lent us her Nintendo, and Zelda was one of the titles. Her games at the time were, Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros 2, Karnov, Metroid, Goonies 2, and of course, Zelda.
I was consumed by the Nes, and especially Zelda. The theme of the game, and concept was enough to entomb me in it's mystical wonder. To this date, Zelda 1 has always been my #1 video game of all time. Although newer Zelda games have enhanced graphics and sound, this title has remained the top due to it's pure beauty.

zelda is the first game in the world to have a save game feature. i play it on the nintendo gamecube becuase i sold my nes along with that game. I play it on gamecube by using the limited edition zelda disc. i dont think it is avalable anymore.(only on www.ebay.com or www.amazon.com)

| This is definitly one of the best games made my Nintendo. When the game was originally launched, it was one of the best long lasting type of game. Amazing levels, creatures, colours and graphics. |

| I am a veteran zelda player and I can say that I have beaten ever single Zelda game...except for the two gameboy color titles...wich i am working on. No one can say that Zelda is a shity game. It change video games. Before the first NES title, there was no game like it. Yes I will admit that the graphics were not that great in the early days of the NES but thats all that we had! Link may look corny and childish, but the puzzles and the sheer difficulty of it make it much harder than a lot of today's games. Those of you who say it sucks-play one of the the NES titles or SNES ones all the way through...and maybe you will smarten up a little and appreciate the game for what it is. |

| I got this game back in '88, and just played all day. But.. In early 2004, I finally beaten it! Beat the 2nd Quest. I will also going to get the Famicom system, the disk system, and Zelda no Densetsu game for the FDS. |

| *Claps at Blues Bro's diss on Steve Puke* Anyway, Zelda was the start of a great vidgame series and also the start of the real time rpg genre. I'm not much of a Zelda fan, but I think Ocarina of Time and A Link to the Past wouldn't be classics if this weren't even thought of! What am I talkin' about? They wouldn't exist! Anyway, the graphics aren't really great, but aren't that bad either. The gameplay is one of my favorites in RPGs, you get to go around slashing the hell outta Deku Shrubs with a sword, and you defeat Ganon with that sword. The story is nice: Locate all the Triforces and defeat Ganon to save Hyrule. The only big problem with this game is the fact that they don't give you any clues where to go next, making it a little frustrating...but nonetheless, an all-time favorite of mine. 10/10 on this one baby!!! |

once i had a nes.it broke about 5 years
ago and threw away the nes and the games. so now my mom bought us a new one on april 2004.so now all we only games i have is super mario bros./duckhunt/world class track meet and no gun!and super mario bros.3,x men,pac-man.i loved zelda

ITS PERFECT!!! IN every aspect. The game revolutionized the gaming industry. It was untouchable at the time and still is today. It was the first game i ever beat. I also beat the game more than any other game (Metroid for NES is a very close second). I had no life growing up and still dont for that matter, but i played through alot of NES's and games. Been playin since 86. Played thru the days of NES, sega, sega genisis,game boy, turbo grafix16, super nintendo, playstation, nintendo64, playstation2, gameboy advanced, xbox, and pc consoles. there are more I know like panasonic, and magnavox which did at a time have a gameing console. But of all the thousands of dollars that were spent on me or i spent on myself in regards to videogames. the 29.99 back in 1986 was the best and most valuable to this day. PERFECT PERFECT game...

| I got this game the day that it came out and I have loved it ever since. Because of this game I am forced to buy every zelda game that ever comes out. I even see myself buying systems just for zelda games. I think the first is the best and I love it. It will be my favorite game forever. If you don't have it stop by a GameStop shop or purchase it on eBay. It is a definate must have and worth the money. |

| this is the game that started the whole zelda legacy.i remember when i as a little kid watching my older brother tear through castles with scary music, slice up some baddies,get the peices of the triforce, i mean man i felt like i was a hero playing the game. true the graphics may not be the best but i mean c'mon it's nintendo. this game set the standard for all adventure RPG's to come.as time went on i think the legend of zelda entered a newer kind of quest with a new world and a new hero for kids today to have a zelda to look back on but nothing will ever come close to the clasic pure gold of the legend of zelda. and the music is just too bad ass i would play the game so long i would here the music in my sleep!!! |

This game Is awesome!
It might not have great graphics compared to today's games, but they were great for there time.
I got Zelda when I was 5 so maybe im biased, but how can you say that this game is not as good as you'd expect it to be!
Defeat it , both worlds and tell me how it sucks then.

| I got this game cheap, and have had it for 3+ years, never seriously playing it. Saturday I picked it up, put it in, and now I'm addicted. I got the cart for $4.99 (£3.11) at a local game shop. This game is more fun in a way compared to the slow turn by turn titles like Dragon Warrior. |

This is a spectacular game. It changed the face of video gaming. Never before were people able to actually save the progress they made in a game, or explore such a vast environment.
This game HAS been topped by every other Zelda game made (with the exception of Zelda II). However, the roots are strong, and I'd highly recommend this to any fan of the Zelda series, or any other gamer period.

| I have to admit, this game is awesome. I pulled my NES out of storage yesterday morning and am still playing it today. It feels kinda awkward going from a ps2 controller to NES controller but its simple design seems to be more comfortable. Zelda is one of those games that will live on in our memories. I give it 5 stars! |

Zelda is the first game that i can remeber loving. As you may have already figured out, i have no llife. All I do is play games. This, though, should make me a good game revewer. I can't be right all of the time, but I do have some good insight as to what makes a good game. All Zelda games are very good. They completely fill in every aspect of a classic. now the new one for game cube i coming out. I think that Nintendo is beutiful for not paying too much attention to the graohics. The gameplay will be wonderful. Zelda is the best. I love that game.

Be for all the 35bit days there was zelda a game that in my day gave me hell. I love this game for it for it was the start of how to make a rpg.
To give this game a bad review is a sin
so meny game's to day are were made great by this game. So no one can say they played them all or the best of the best intill they have played zelda throw with out cheats or a book. you can call me an 30year old man but "for i seen the start a hope i never see a end of the great games to come". |

| Of course everybody knows Zelda is the best game for NES and i think people who dont like it didnt really understood the game very well. And with this game graphics arent the most important thing, but the storyline and gameplay are. Nowadays graphics always have to be perfect, but then the other elements that make a game look special, like this game, are suffering. The most important part for a game to me is the whole atmosphere around it, like you really look forward to play again, instead of telling everyone how nice it looks but never play it again after you get stuck somewhere. And by the way finishing this game isnt that difficult if you really look everywhere for information about items or enemies. |

Zelda is, overally, one of the best games ever created. The story plot is amazing. The first thing you get is your weapon, like in all games, the sword. Then youre supposed to find out whats going on in this place youre in. I loved it when I first played it, very hard game. Why it is the second best game is that it doesn't go as far as Final Fantasy. Which is overally, a better game.

| This game is the most fun nes game i ever played on! Although i had to use gamegenie codes, i got a whole lot of fun out of the game. I sold my nes a long time ago now, but as soon as i downloaded a nes emulater for my PC i played on the legend of zelda strate away. I still play it now. I'm a big fan a zelda, and I'v played on all the games! If you have this game, i hope you're having fun to. |

| Yes this is about as good as it gets, not only for the NES but for any system. It isn't my fav NES game but is probably the best one. Why isn't it my favorite then? Well because back in the day I played this game endlessly but could never finish it, recently I took another stab at it and found it as fun as ever but still couldn't finish it. Had to cheat a little and find a few things on the net to actually do it. If you finished this game back in the NES glory days without help I salute you. I f I had finished it then it would be #1 on my list. This game is a Classic RPG that hold a special place in gaming history. |

| This is without a shadow of a doubt, my favorite NES game of all time. Even today, I still sit down in front of my NES a few times every year, and go through this entire game in one sitting. It is the ORIGINAL Zelda game, the one that started it all. Sure, the story is not the greatest, some of the english is actually pretty badly translated, but the gameplay is perfect. The graphics are nice and clear, and the sound is excellent for an NES game. This is a MUST OWN for all NES users. ***** game (not ****1/2) |

| i got this game and played and played until i went dizzy. i once got so close to beating it but my game got deleted. i was pissed off. this has got to be one o the best games for nintendo. lots of secrets, and its jus amazing. |
