Just Curious About One Thing...

In Off-topic

This may seem like a stupid question, and if it is, please tell me so.

I grew up in the 90's, I'm a 1991 model. This thread goes for OneGenerationTooLate, myself and Aaron I guess. Since we are all children of the 90's.

Is it really that extreme that we like 80's stuff? Don't get me wrong, I love all kinds of 90's shows and games, but I remember seeing a lot of 80's stuff on TV growing up, that was sent as reruns. I don't think that it is that weird, that us as teenagers, are fans of 80's stuff, since most of it were broadcast on TV when we grew up. If someone come to this forum and said they were born in the year 2000, I would think it'd be weird.

So, what do you think? Is it that extraordinary?

It basically is here, If I mention anything like that they look at me like a martian, then cal me an idiot. So it's pretty extreme here, because everybody is stupid.

I was born in the 90's. I think the 80's was 1000 times cooler.

Well, perhaps, but the 90's had it's glory too.

I mean you had cartoons like:

2 Stupid Dogs
Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3
Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog
Aladdin
Animaniacs
Back to the Future
Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure
Captain N
Batman the Animated Series
Beavis and Butt-Head
Bonkers
Darkwing Duck
Duck Tales
Freakazoid
Futurama
Goof Troop
The Mask
Pinky and the Brain
Pirates of Dark Water
Pokémon
Ren and Stimpy
Sam & Max
Sonic Underground
Super Mario World
SWAT Kats: The Radical Squadron
The Simpsons
The Tick
Tiny Toon Adventures

Yeah, I think Ren and stimpy should be at the top of that list

Me too, but I organized it alphabetically.

Don't you agree with me though? The 90's was a pretty cool decade, right?

You forgot Duck man on that list.

I'm sure I left out a lot of great stuff, but I just picked a couple that came in my mind at the time.

No matter what age, there is nothing wrong with the 80s.

Of course not, but I don't think there's something wrong with the 90's either... I mean, I think the 80's and the 90's was equally good (tell me if I'm wrong here), if you think about it, the 90's had some good and bad elements and the 80's had some good and bad elements too.

I was born in the early 90's and I grew up in that decade, which is a little reason that shows my love and affection for it.

The 80's had some good shows, some superior to others, and the exact same thing with the 90's so I'd say (in my head) it's a draw.

im a 91 child.....
i enjoyed everything of the 80s that people have brought to me and showed me....

you should have put salute your shorts on the list...
how could you forget?

You know, I saw that show a couple of times, and I really enjoyed it to a certain degree. I wasn't a regular viewer of it though. I just made that list to illustrate how I felt about the 90's. There's a lot of other shows that I have in my mind from the 90's, and if you want a full list, then just ask.

So you're a 91 model too? Awesome, that must mean we're both "90's Kids", right?

The 80's ruled, but I don't see how that decade was better than the 90's, and the other way around. They were equally good. Now the 70's... That's another story, I guess.

yeah yeah....'91!
im just glad ive been raised to enjoy these amazing 80's things, like the NES and stuff.....if not id be one of the kids at my school that i dont really like that much.

I'm pretty sure Video POWer was in the 90s. Anyone remember that show?

Yup. Video POWer was in the 90's. That show actually was at its best in the year I was born, 1991.

This may seem like a stupid question, and if it is, please tell me so.

I could go for the easy answer and say: why do you give a tinker's damn what people think about your own personal beliefs and business, but that's the easy way out.
Personally, I don't think it's extraordinary at all. I was a teenager in the 80's, and it was some good times. Things were simpler and a lot more fun back then. I kind of had a similar question running through my head growing up, though, as I adored 50's rock and roll. I always thought I was some sort of outcast because of it, until I met people with the same interests. And adults from that era actually respected me a little more because of it.
Of course, you'll occasionally run across some goofball who says, "Why are you worrying about what happened back then? Live for today!" I had a crazy neighbor lady who said that to me once.
And, as this is a NES forum, after all, I doubt you'll find any people here thinking it's extraordinary!
