OK! I'VE HAD IT!!!!

In Off-topic

(Note: please dont be mad at me. this little thread is based on years of pent up rage on this particular subject.)

Geez. I absolutely have had it up to here with the thousands of threads bashing movies based on video games. and I have to say alot of these comments are major bullocks. I am one of the 5 people out there that can proudly say I enoyed them all. (except House of the dead, Double Dragon, and Alone in the Dark) Save the few that I mentioned , I beleive each one was made originally and I enjoy the differences.

Super Mario Bros.: I enjoy an alternate storyline. The "dark approach" to mario, and the world of Koopa.

Street Fighter 2010: The casting was good, and let's face it : the game never had a plot, so they made a plot that makes film fans like me giggle. everyone eventually looks how they do in the game.

Mortal Kombat: I must say, what a film. The fighting was good, and the faithful storyline was the best ever done in a game-movie.
It's sequel was not bad, but not as good as the first film.

Resident Evil: self explanatory.

Im with you dude. ppl act like every game movie that comes out is bad. I really think your ideas for the Metal Gear movie are great. and dont forget Final Fantasy the movie, that kicked ass too. *taps foot & drums fingers on table* Im still waiting for my Zelda movie.... lol

I'm half with you.

I wouldn't say those movies are masterpieces. No single one of them.
They're all a bit weird, but, what the heck, they are fun, when you watch them without prejudice.
I must admit that I own Super Mario Bros. and Mortal Kombat on video myself. So I won't bash them.

I'm semi with you. I really liked the Mortal Kombat movie despite the universal bashing by the critics. However, and it pains me to say this, the Mario Brothers movie was fundementally flawed in too many ways for me to forgive. The Street Fighter 2010 Anime (the movie, not the series) was FANTASTIC. The live movie starring Van Damme was pretty damn shite. The Resident Evil movie was pretty good., the Tomb Raider movie was pretty bad. Ah screw it, I'm sorry but I can't in good conscious really agree with you. There's been a couple of hits but too many ultimate misses.

Animated movies usually turn out much better than live action ones.

EvilNES
If you were a girl I'd tell you to go take a midol. Chill, people have a right to their opinion as much as you do. If people don't like video game movies, so what? Do you honestly care THAT MUCH as to what other people say about that subject? Isn't there something in your life that deserves more attention than getting all fired up over nothing?

EvilNES, I agree with you on the first Mortal Kombat movie. It was great with some good fighting.

Who?

I like game to movie flicks most of the time. I really liked the Tomb Raider flicks, and the Mortal Kombat. Resident Evil was also good. I really see no reason for people to just absolutely HATE game to movies... I usually hear more people complaining about movies made into games (i.e. Back to the Future, Total Recall, etc.).

WOW, my bad. I got EvilNES confused with ZEN. My bad! Sorry EvilNES. Anyways, I'll edit.

no sorry to ZEN not like its a bad thing to be EvilNES but still.

I agree and don't agree.

Well...here it is. Sorry Zen. .

Yea, EvilNES said it right here.

yeah, it is pretty stupid im just messing around.

Yes! I'm not the only one who wasted my time with Alone In The Dark!

The frist resident evil was pretty sweet execpt for when the one lady lost her head in the beinging on the elevator (<-thats not spelled right is it?)
