Ninja Gaiden 3

In Ninja Gaiden

So I loaded up NesterDC, and started playing Ninja Gaiden III, then I looked around on the disc some more and found that I have a NES ROM of the Japanese version. So I load it up, and what do I see on the title screen?

A PASSWORD FEATURE!

I'd like to know why the Japanese gamers get a password feature, and we have to beat the game in a single sitting!

(not that I have a problem with our release, in fact I like it better how it is, makes you improve your skills further )

Are you sure it's not a cheat placed inside the NES ROM? Some emulators have cheats that are accessed through manipulating the NES ROM itself, I believe. If not, then I don't think it really matters. I'd rather go through the whole game anyway. More cinematic. Still, that is strange.

They wanted to make it cheaper, I bet. I guess they figured us dumb Americans wouldn't miss it.

I guess a password feature is built into the game...

...I don't agree with the review, however.

I didn't see any password feature on the NES ROM, and I've played two different ones, from two different places... but I suppose the only way to know would be to get the actual cart.

Are you talking about the North America release? If so, I know that doesn't have a password feature. I rented it years ago when the video stores still rented out NES carts.

I've also found a bunch of sites that say the Japanese version has a password feature, for sure. I wouldn't want to use it, though. Going through the games is just to fun!

exactly. I'm happy with the way the whole NES series is. I'd like to try the xbox NG but I think I might expect too much out of it. visually it's beautiful, but that doesn't mean it plays smoothly.

I'm willing to bet it does, though. Also, you can unlock the original Ninja Gaiden trilogy! Now that's playing with POWer! (Oh dear, I might shoot myself after saying that!)

The XBox games that I played all seemed to run and play very smoothly. I'm sure NG would be no exception.

When I was last playing on the xbox I noticed some frame rate drops on a few games. although I'd still consider grabbing an xbox if one were presented to me for the right price.

ALL RIGHT!!! That's right baby!

I just got done beating this game! Ha! Finally! Haven't done that in years! Now I feel MUCH better! Now to learn to beat it without dying... ugh....

how do you get those pic where your signature????????

just put the link to the pic you desire in image-tags. It's quite easy.

Well, I'm currently playing through the Japanese version of Ninja Gaiden III (Ninja Ryukenden III, if you want to see)...

!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe this game. I thought the password and unlimited continues were bad, so I tried this game out to see more of it... wow, just.... just wow. Less enemies, shorter levels, items in useful spots... it's pathetic. I can't believe it. When you die on the NTSC version (not sure about PAL), you start the whole level over. On this version, just that section. It's unbelieveable. The second boss, yeah, his shot is shorter going downwards. This is pathetic. I'll post later after I conquer it. It'll be no problem.

EDIT: Yeah, no probs... when you die against one of the three last bosses, you don't start from the airship... oh no... you start from THE ROOM PRIOR TO THE BOSS!!!!!!!!!! Lame. I through in part one to see if it was easier, but it seems the same actually. When Ryu runs though, it looks like the animation isn't as good. Weird stuff.

It's strange when you consider that we didn't get the Japanese version of Super Mario Bros. 2 because it was considered too difficult for western gamers. With Ninja Gaiden III it seems the complete opposite was true.

Ninja Gaiden III has to be the most hard game to find, even on ebay. is this just me or what?

I used to think the same thing. I had many problems finding the third Ninja Gaiden. I actually found mine in the wild, and grabbed it IMMEDIATELY when I saw it. I could never find it anywhere on eBay. I think my searching skills have improved though, 'cuz I found a few links for you:

The third link is a Ninja Gaiden lot of all three NES Games, but it's there Good luck!

THANK YOU! $23 bucks for Ninja Gaiden III in the box, thats a good deal right?

Roth was right about Ninja Gaiden III jap version. So easy and not even worth the effort. If you wanna try it and want a challenge...english version all the way.
