Holy! I wonder which version to get? the GCN one or the PS2 one!

Resident Evil 4 shocked me in so many ways when it launched on GameCube, and it continues to do so with this PlayStation 2 edition. Capcom has truly given it tender loving care. The lengthy development time has transformed the title into a true masterpiece that really makes you appreciate the level of detail that can be achieved in videogames. Things like shooting the weapons out of the hands of enemies, or perhaps even in mid-air is a rarely seen level of depth. And so even as I went back and played RE4 on PS2, I felt so drawn into the world it was hard to take a break from the action. This is what Resident Evil 4 is all about, and if you haven't played it yet you absolutely must. It's easily one of the top 10 PlayStation 2 games you can lay your hands on. For me, it's probably one of my top 10 games of all-time. There's so much to enjoy, and even though PS2's visuals aren't quite as good as they were on GCN, my jaw still drops at the art design and how immersive the worlds are.

You have to play this game. If you haven't, stop hesitating and do it. And don't go getting distracted, because the worlds just keep changing and wowing you. The idea of the "village" is but a fraction of what RE4 has to offer. If you have played it on GCN, well, whether you buy it or rent it, you'll want to play Separate Ways. It provides a great amount of closure on the conspiracies that you only get a glimpse of during Leon's quest.

This is easily deserving of our editor's choice award. Any difference in scores between PS2 and GameCube is simply a matter of reviewer preference as well as the minor porting setbacks and stiff competition on PS2. Nonetheless, still a must-have title.

Why dont you just make one thread called "Airfiggy's Reviews". It would be alot easier to keep track of all of them. By the way the PS2 version is probably better by a little bit.

I really want to play this game but i don't have a Gamecube or a PS2.

What are the differences between the two?
I heard the PS2 version has "special" features. All I really know is that the Gamecube version apparently has the visual edge, and it's also probably cheaper, as it's been around a while.

Well I know for sure that there were some scenes in Enter the Matrix that were only in the PS2 version and not in the Gamecube. I dont know if this is true in other games but I would just get the PS2 one so I dont miss out on cut-scenes or music tracks.

PS2 verison probably has more stuff, but not as good graphics (like can't have 20 trees in a zone and such). I say of you haven't boughten by now...your crazy .

Get the Gamecube one. Even though the Ps2 one may have some extra crap thrown in, the Gamecube's will have the better graphics, as well as a better price.

Resident Evil 4 is so f'ing good. deffinatly one of my favorite games, i'm talking in the top 3. if i ever get a PS2 i'll get RE4 for it, as the GameCube version blew me away. BEST GAMECUBE GAME EVER!

GC version has better graphics, PS2 has more levels (you play some levels as Ada).

As a collector, you need both of course.

The PS2 version has a crapload of extras, particularly the two extra costumes, the extra levels, and, of course, the (badass) laser gun.

The levels are cool, and the laser is even cooler (it rips Los Plagas right out of enemies). As for the costumes, Chris' is this retro getup, while what's-her-face, the girl, has this dorky-looking, but really useful armor.

Manuel's right, though. You should get both (if you have the cash.)

Blah, im not forking out a extra 30 or how ever much it costs when I own it on GC. These new features are just probably some marketing trick so they can get more money off it anyway. But I sure could use that laser gun in the GC because sniping those las plagas things with a infared sniper scope on those one type of enemies was sure a pain.

do what i'm going to do.... wait for the next generation of consoles to come out.
