Has anyone heard of the "game doctor"???

In General Gaming

I was at my local gamecrazy looking at NES, and N64 games, and the manger there was showing this other guy the "game doctor". Its suppose to take out scraches on GCN, PS2 (and PS1), and X-Box games. Also, it can be used for DVDs and CDs. It costs about 1000 dollars (US). I think thats a bit pricey, but if it works, that would be great. HAs anyone heard of this/used it???

PS:This isn't in the Modern Games section, because it can be on DVDs, and CDs, and any CD base thing in general.

I have heard of it, but 1000 bucks.. woah. I (think) I saw it at a Gamestop for around $30.00.

Well, thats what the guy at Gamecrazy said. I'll have to ask him again.

i guess that one is top-end, the one they use at my local rental place is a hand, held type thing, where you wind it and it resurfaces the cd's.

You mean for $50? Definitely no $1,000.

haha i bet that gamestop employee wanted to sell it for 1000 and then buy one for 50, to make some extra cash!

Thats what he said. I'm not joking. I'll ask him tomorrow when I go...

Yeah, he must have been joking. I have heard of them (I read about it in the Official UK Nintendo Magazine) and they were raving about it so it could be worth looking into.

This becomes a good joke when he actually finds somebody who pays 1000$.

I saw that thing for 9.95Euro (13$) in a store last year.

I went to talk to him today, and he said that he was joking, but he said the real price was 50.

ive got one they Break real easy but usually still work, I got my devil May Cry for Free using one of those it didnt work so i buffed it and it worked.

Would this thing work on dreamcast games? I think my SA might have a few scratches

I fail to see why it won't work on DC games. But if it doesn't, don't blame me

If it works on almost anything CD base, it should work...

Dreamcast uses GD-Roms, a proprietary format that's denser than normal CDs, and can hold something like 1.5 gigs. So, if it only works on CD-based games, (Saturn, Playstation, etc...) and not DVD-based games (PS2, Xbox..), than it wouldn't work on a Dreamcast Game.

Of course, I don't really know what I'm rambling about. It probably just removes scratches, and should work on all disc-based games.

It also removes scratches from DVDs, so it will definitely (probably ) work with Dreamcast GD NES ROMs, too.

Does anyone know whats in the game doctor that take out scrathes?

Why, that's the games industries most well kept secret! Probably. I don't know. Good point though.

I'd love to know because my friend uses..... toothpaste, and she said it works great.

Toothpaste????

Yea. I'm not joking. She uses it on games, and CDs. She says it works, but I will not put toothpaste on a game.... plus all my games work

I also heard that toothpaste works well but like Malon, i'm not going to try it. Toothpaste is also good to stop you bleeding if you cut yourself shaving. No. Really. And your face will smell minty fresh through out the whole day.

hehee

I heard of the Tooth Paste thingie, and yet the Disk Doctor thingies just have some kind of water , so i jus use Faucet Water and Works great.

I just spread crest all over my dave mirra disk, washed it off, and threw it in he dreamcast. Didnt make anything better, but also didnt do anything bad. didnt do nuttin!
