How do you display your collection?

In Collecting

How do you display your NES collection? Personally, I moved a year ago, so most of my NES stuff is still in numerous boxes in a spare room upstairs. I used to have some narrow shelving that I displayed my favorite boxes on. Maybe someday I'll do the same, but enough to display everything-- maybe even enclosed in glass. Anyone else?

This is how mine is displayed, though the first pic isa bit out of date:

Well in a few weeks i will be moving, now everyhting is packed and not sorted, check pic to see, this way i can move the games all at once.

I have them in simple shelves. I don't have enough room to display them as they deserve.

My closet has a built in bookcase thats halfway filled with my NES Games

I use an old Entertainment Center with two pullout drawers. both hold about 70 unboxed regular shaped carts. Its great to see the look on peoples faces when I show them a good sized stack next to my NES, and then open up a these 2 large drawers overstuffed with NES Games. the kids on my block practically shit their pants.

Dont get me started on my Atari Collection.

mine is... uhhh... in a box that is now too small to contain everything. so I'm in the planning stages of a display/storage upgrade.

I have a video cassette case that all mine fit in (except a few). There is room on the two doors, and on the shelves in the unit itself. They are all in dust covers (minus 10-15 of them). They face outwards so you can see the titles, and I leave the doors open all the time. I like to look at them!

i have most of my NES Games crammed in a drawer on my old computer desk that i use as my tv stand.... all but 7 of my NES Games are inside the drawer, the 7 not in the are my newest ones that wont fit

soon i plan on getting a big L shaped computer desk to put my computer on, put a tv beside it, and Hook my nes up to it, then have some kind of book shelf for everyone to see my NES Games

You might want to rethink that idea, usually the computer/monitor will cause interefence with the television if they're very close together.

If you have 50cm between them it should be no problem.

thanks, i've never heard about that before

Me neither until I discovered the problem for myself.

Are TFT screens a problem, too? Does anybody know?

I put them all in a fairly big shoebox I have. When some dont fit, i just put them on top. Nothing special.

About seven normal shoe boxes and one funky grey plastic carrier with enough room for 10 games and a middle section that I keep some 'cleaning solution' in. I've thought about building something fancy, but I am far too lazy for that. I used to have to use a Jewel-Osco paper grocery bag, but that broke on me and my GI Joe Atlantis Factor has had something loose in it ever since....So don't use Jewel-Osco Plastic Bags

This summer we will work up our attic. With that new space I might get a place to put on fancy shelves and display my stuff in there.

Finally! I got a digital camera, so I'll probably be pic happy for awhile. Just bear with me!

I tried to explain what my collection is displayed like before in this thread. In the back is the cabinet that I mentioned. The rest of it is my NES stuff that I just wanted to include in the pic.

Nevermind the cord draped across the picture. That's my wife playing the new Paper Mario.

Nice Collection Roth How many NES Games is that?

Thank you! I've been working on it about two years now... I think. I usually only get to buy around tax time, so that's a bummer. At least it's exciting when it happens!

Ha! Funny you should ask how many that is! I just got done counting them! Are you some sort of mind reader?

That's a nice and tidy collection you have there.

Your wife can be proud of you. No mess, everythings arranged in beautiful order.

Looks nice indeed, very nice in order,i will move the 15th of april and then i will display everything like the way i want, finally!!i will put up some pics too then.

I hope I will have a wife who will play games!

I used to display my small collection like on my desk I think. Now I keed them in a plastic see-through container. I will take a photo later of my crappy collection.

I combined my hobbies of woodworking and NES to build custom shelves that fit both boxed and bare carts. I built three of them and they will each fit either 666 bare or 500 boxed.

yay for those Ultima boxes in the last image that were previously mine

Wow! That is very nice! Do you have that all set up in your own den?

That's a great collection!
What's that big Super Mario Bros. thingy on one shelf? A light or something?

The big mario and PacMan things are their marquees out of their original arcade games. I find broken arcades and take marquees out and then build lamps out of them. i have a Donkey Kong, Ms. Pacman, and Galaga in the works. should be done by the end of the month...i will get a pic of them on later...

That's so cool!
Where do you "find" broken arcades?
Do you take those home or just the marquees?

I find them at video game dealers or flea markets. You can buy just marquees on Ebay or other online stores as well. The wood work is simple and only requires a table saw with a blade you can change the height on. Then I just go to lowes and buy the wires and bulbs and sockets and wire together a series circuit with a switch. If anyone wants one, let me know which game and I will see if i cant find it. As long as you pay for the materials, I enjoy doing the work.

My next woodworking project combines my hobby of woodworking with my 3rd favorite hobby...I am building a liquor cabinet.

love the shelves, nice collection too!
