This game is an improvement over the first two Castlevania games for the NES, but the problem with all of them is that the NES simply doesn't have enough buttons to allow decent gameplay in this type of platformer (maybe I just feel this way because the first Castlevania game I got into was the one on the Super NES). But it is still decent and worth picking up if you can get it under $5. I give 3 out of 4 stars.
