Difference between to and Cc in email

In Off-topic

Hi, I would like to know the essential difference between to and Cc in emails.

I mean, we can simply use comma seperated addresses in to field to send the mail to more than one person.

So, what is the need for Cc.

I know the difference between Cc BCc, but I don't see the need for Cc when there is to.

Thanks.

Whoa... That one kinda came outta nowhere. But, here ya go.

A simple Google search:

First search result:

Which gave me the answer.

Cc (carbon copy or courtesy copy) = send copy to others. which you use mostly.
BCc (blind carbon copy or....) = send a copy to one (or more) select party without the others knowing about it.

That's a very rough translation, but about 2 minutes of reading on that link should make it clear.

BTW, thanks. I always wondered that myself.. just never bothered to look it up.

Hah, its late and I just realized what he was really asking
But I think it is still kind of answered in that link..

"to" is who the email is TO directly
"Cc" is when the email is not directly to someone but you still want them to see it. err something...
Sort of the "politically correct" way to e-mail??

I need to go to bed and this million mile post needs to end, so, Goodbye.

Heh. This is an odd question!
I always put my own email address in the cc box so I get a copy of the email I just sent. 'Cause I'm too lazy to switch to the "sent-box."
