The "Alf" Thread.

In Off-topic

Anyone who seen this show knows how good this show was. The show has come and gone it hasn't left my heart as being my fav show of all time.

Intro:

Here is as sweet wallpaper:

What was your fav episode? Mine has to be the first one when Alf comes to Earth.

It's been so many years since I've seen that show that I can't remember a specific favorite episode, but I thought the eating cats thing and Willie's constant exasperation with ALF was hilarious. The only piece of memorabilla I have left is an ALF pillowcase. Great show!

The DVD sets are quite good, you must know, what person doesn't own their favourite show of all time on DVD?

I liked it when i was a kid but when i rewatched it on odyssey channel i dint really like it.

I would but I am very low on cash... Man I wish I had a job.

Does anyone remember that episode where Alf was cooking something in the oven and then it blew up and he went flying out the kitchen.

Haha, yes. That's got to be one of my favourite episodes. He is cooking duck a la range for Willie, and he goes to light the stove after the gas had been on for a while, it igntes and blows him out of the kitchen, through the wooden doors of the window thing in between the kitchen and the family room, and throws him against the door.

Look people, knows the best part of the show was his hungering for cat flesh.

I guess I just don't get what the big deal with Alf is. It seems to me that it was a good idea for an episode, but a whole series? I guess nostalgia does strange things to people.

It is funny in the sense that it's pure cheese, though.

I liked Alf. I don't remember special episodes, though.

Well, most of them were really nice.
I had tapes (to listen to on my cassette recorder before sleeping) of about 25 episodes.
Maybe I should search for those. They must be somewhere in the house.

I was just curious what planet is Alf from? and how did he get to Earth? I don't think i ever saw the first episode.

Alf is from Melmac and his spaceship wrecked.

The title character is Gordon Shumway (aka Alf Tanner), a little alien nicknamed A.L.F. (Alien Life Form). He was born on October 28, 1756 on the Lower East side of the planet Melmac. The planet Melmac was located six parsecs past the Hydra Centaurus Super Cluster and had a green sky and blue grass. (...) In the pilot episode, Shumway follows a ham radio signal and crash-lands into the garage of the Tanners. ...

Thanks for the info manuel i didn't know there was an Animated Series also.

It's kind of lame, features ALF and his life on melmac, cheesy comedy not unlike archie comics, and is even more cheeze than the actual show. But I love it.

I only saw the animated Alf once and absolutely didn't like it.
What I didn't like about it was the character design and the story itsself wasn't that interesting.
But not as bad as the Jackie Chan cartoons... horrible.

My brother watched that! I hated it! How the hell do crappy shows like that get so many seasons, when good shows like Samurai Jack get canceled so fast?

(For the record, my brother watched Samurai Jack, too. Only fair to mention it.)

I had completely forgotten about that ALF cartoon... until now. My bro and I used to watch it every Sat. Back then I thought it was good, who knows how much I'd like it now though.... it'd probably be a disappointment like the movie "Cloak and Dagger".

BTW Archie comics are awesome.

BTW Archie comics are awesome. That movie Cloak and Dagger was filmed in my hometown San Antonio but's that's the only reason why i like it.

I just wonder, what year did the first comic book come out? Is there a possibility that it came out in 1988?
