uhh.. weird

In Off-topic

ive noticed just recently that i have a red speck on the screen of my acer aspire laptop. it definately is ot somthing on the outside, because i cant cratch it off or anything... whats up?

Congratulations on your first stuck/dead pixel. The world of LCD electronics is full of them.

After a time you won't notice it any more.
I also have a dead pixel on my laptop. No big deal.

My GBA has one, but it's sort-off off to the side, so it's not a huge problem. Though I do find myself looking at it sometimes during play.

i still have my warranty, could i get some compensation for this? (besides a new computer) and ive only had the thing for A month!

Not likely, unless it's a large spot. Your best bet is probably to call the support line for the manufacturer.

It depends on what "class" is the screen of your laptop. I don't know it exactly, but up to 5 dead pixels or so usually have to be tolerated by the consumer.
Call the customer hotline or send 'em a mail.

well ill probably be able to handle it. it only shows up on black backrounds And its a small peice. Thanks for the help.

just call it an lcd screen "birth mark". lol

Ehh, could somebody explain to me what this red spot is?

Yeah, I saw that but, I still don't get it......

It's just a pixel on an LCD screen that always stays one single colour all the time. On rare occasions they can become unstuck and function as normal, but that's very uncommon. You're pretty much stuck with it.

I have a few on my flatscreen that are red but they are only visible when the screen there is black.
