music media.

In Off-topic

With an increase of these new-fangled I-pud/pod/whatevers everywhere, it disturbs me that we'll never be able to get physical peices of media in the near future. I admittedly have jumped the wave 5 years ago with MP3. So I was wondering besides MP3s, what music stock do you perfer.

PErsonally its in this order.

1.Records- for my classic rock
2 Cassettes- for my hair metal bands
3. CDs- for my techno

For me it has to be CD's. Although I do think that the old records are pretty cool. I have a friend who recently bought a turntable and is now buying all of his cds on record form (bit stupid, no?)
So, for me-
1 - CD's
2 - Records
3 - Cassettes

I don't really go for this I Pod mumbo jumbo but when my discman finally stops working I might get one.

CDs have always worked for me.

Although I agree with you about vinyl, it's cool and it sounds fantastic, I must disagree about tapes. Analog tape media is the worst form of audio storage ever conceived. It has by far the lowest audio quality, a teribble lifespan, and you have to fast forward or rewind them.

The only reason they were popular at one time is that they are compact and made a decent form of media for vehicles. Now that CD players are standard in vehicles, there is no reason for tape...

...except nostalgia, I guess.

I was cleaning out the garage before I moved a few months ago and found boxes of cassettes I had packed up a long time ago, probably over 10 years ago.

You never truly appreciate how good digital music sounds until you play a 10 year old heavy metal tape. I love technology!

I personally have fallen in love with records. I've been slowly building my collection. I have a few original Beatles records and even a record with Leonard Nimoy singing (for all you don't know, he's Spock in the original Star Trek). I bet that one isn't in CD form!!!
I hope to someday get my hands on my mother's collection (more Beatles, Johnny Cash, and an acual record of JFK's speaches).
Cd's come in second for me. I hate them because if I need money they are way too easy to offload (and I HATE getting rid of my things).

RECORDS. my dad has alot of them, with all great music my favourites:
YES
Steppenwolf
The Who
Led Zepplin
Pink Floyd
Lynard Skynard
James Gang/joe walsh
Jethro tull
uhhh alot more i cant remember.

All media has it's problems, CDs scratch easily, tapes stretch, records warp... I do prefer CDs, though. The sound is awesome. I do like tapes, because (like my buddies and I always say) it's something you can just throw in your back pocket. Real handy.

I like The Sega CDX where u can use it asa Cd plyer thats like the coolest thing ever.
