Sony PSP Porn business scheduled for July

According to a recent news report by Nihon Keizai Shimbun publication, a group of adult video makers are planning on offering videos that will run on Sony’s Portable Playstation gaming console.

Since Sony’s PSP uses a proprietary media standard known as Universal Media Disc (UMD), it’s tricky for video developers to start offering content based on the standard. "We regulate the development of games with adult content by adopting our own format. But as for videos, the responsibility for content is left to the developers," said an insider at Sony, originally quoted by Business Daily.

July is stated as the launch of adult titles for PSP, but firm dates have not yet been confirmed.

That's some pretty funny stuff!

... I wonder, what were you searching for when you found that? haha

Yeah, that's why they develop proprietary standards. It has nothing to do with piracy prevention, POWer consumption, and portability issues.

What a strange thing for them to say. I don't think adult content regulation has anything to do with the UMD format.

I read that too! You don't have to search for it. I found it on an IT-news site.

Pr0n sells it seems...
BUT I will still not buy a PSP. When I want to watch pr0n, then on a big screen.

The funny thing is: the UMDs will be more expensive than DVDs...

(laughing)
That reminds me of what my friend said when he bought a projector and a 100" tent for it. I'm sure it depicts "acual size".

A 100'' screen?
I'd love to have one, too.

100"...dang, you'd have to put it outside unless you had a big house. Then...you better hope you live out in the woods and not in a city type neighborhood. I can hear the generic, nosy neighbor now..."Hey man! Watcha watchin' over there? Hang on, I'll climb over the fence and take a look for myself......hey everyone, the neighbor is watching porn on some newfangled screen in his backyard!!!!....HEY EVERYBODY!!!!! lol

I really don't think this whole UMD thing is going to fly (at least not for the retail releases).
It's peering into a very small market (namely PSP owners) and most technologically savvy users will just use a UMD converter to make their own media and do whatever they want with it. Since UMD supports mpeg-4 video compression, there not much of a limit to what people can do with it as long as they have blank UMD media and the hardware to convert it.

This whole thing will no doubt garner some attention for the PSP, but it's really nothing that inventive.

That's like watching a movie on a garage door.

You wouldn't even need UMD media, a memory stick is ok to store videos on it.

I'd love to watch movies at home on a screen the size of a garage door...

PSP

Play Station P0rn.

Aint bad.

Hey, think about it, it's portable. They sell Playboys and Hustlers at airline shops, and those sell, apparently.

Man On Bus: "Excuse me, but do you mind if I watch porn on my PSP?"

Other Man On Bus: "Not at all."

Maybe it's just me but I wouldn't feel comfortable with some man/or women jerking or rubbing it while I'm sitting next to them on a bus/plane/taxi/train. People should just wait until they get to the privacy of their own home.

It depends on the "size" of the memory stick. "Universal Media Disk" can store up to 2,000 MB.
That means high-resolution, DVD-quality video. That means !
...

(NOTE: There's a joke in this post somewhere.)

Joke found and taken.

I think there are memory sticks with 1GB of volume? That should be enough even for some pr0n. I can be wrong, though. Sony memory sticks are no good.
I love SD cards. Those are much better.
