XBOX1

In Modern Systems

Hey guys, I just recently got into the whole XBOX.... customizing scene. Just curious if any of you have done this and what were some of the programs you favored?

Just trying to get some ideas... The whole scene is kinda dying, and its kinda hard to find some of the stuff I was looking for.

I still use my modded XBOX to post on the internet with. It's amazing the things this machine can accomplish. I got it running a fairly stable version of DSL (linux) and have my main dashboard set as XBOX Media Center.

The scene is still being supported at the . There's a lot of interesting ports of PC games and homebrew apps. I mainly use it as my all-in-one media machine.

The only thing I originally planned on modding my XBOX for was just for the console emulators. It can emulate everything from Odyssey2, to NES, to Amiga, to PlayStation1, to... XBOX!
But after installing a much larger hard disk drive, it's practically become my other computer.

I don't think Microsoft every originally intended the XBOX to work with a printer or digital camcorder, but that's what I've done with it.

I currently have a stack of 10 or more xbox's that have been modded or need modding.

I have my Halo Edition w/ a 500gb hdd, fully loaded with 100+ movies, 60+ xbox games, 23 gigs of Music, loads of emulators/roms, and all my pictures. Actually used this machine more than my PS3, 360, and Wii combined! Very useful and a nice all in one machine, especially when your going to stay away from home. I love my xbox's...

I have another that I used a doorbell to turn on and off Another that I am putting LED's in, cleared the jewel and windowed, USB's... the norm.

I never did try to hard to get the Linux part of it working.. How is that? Worth messing with still?
I can't believe you've got your printer and camera working on it
