I just did the lockout mod....

In Hardware

using this guide I successfully modded my NES. I didn't do step 13 of the guide (grounding pin 4) and my NES works just fine. when you turn it on without a game in it it doesn't flash. and with a game in it plays just fine. now all I need is a PAL game or 2 so that I have a purpose for the modded NES

NOTE: I used an extra NES that I picked up at a yardsale for $3

Personally, the fact that it doesn't blink anymore is reason enough for me.

yeah, that is a good thing too! but I'd still like to have a PAL game that I wouldn't be able to play with an NTSC console

I want to do this, and maybe in a while attempt the Stereo sound Mod.

There is no stereo sound mod... it just takes some channels of audio and runs them on one cable, and some others on the other cable... it's NOT stereo sound. and when I say that I wouldn't even bother to do it, you know it's not worth the effort, because I love hacking around in there.

Congrats Commander Campkill! That was my first (and only mod so far) on an NES. It was kinda scary for me, since it was my only NES... wouldn't want to screw that up Good job man, I personally think it helps play the games better as well... or so it seems to me. Not sure how it would, but the games all worked better after I did that.

But... just look at this.. who WOULDN'T want this sticking out of the back of their NES!?

So.... Sexy..

^^^ me....

Good job man. It would be cool to play PAL games on if it's NTSC. I may try this at one point, after getting a spare NES and also when I have spare time.
