IGN-Need for Speed: Most Wanted DS Review.

Closing Comments
Need for Speed Underground 2 for the DS was a good, solid racing game that left some room for improvement. Need for Speed Most Wanted doesn't even try to address the previous game's shortcomings, instead throwing in a huge batch of its own. The game just doesn't gel at all: control is bad, objectives are confusing, and the visuals don't come anywhere near what EA did with the previous DS NFS game. And though there's some challenge here, it's mostly due to simply adopting to all the negatives to try and eke out some fun. The DS already has a good assortment of racers - this one just can't even sputter to the challenge.

4.0 Presentation
Even with the different races, cars, and challenges to unlock, it's incredibly easy to get lost due to lazy menu systems. There's very little fanfare after a win to get excited and move on.
5.5 Graphics
A tremendous step back from Underground 2 on the DS. It's still a smooth 30 FPS, but these are some of the blandest car textures ever. Play in first person mode and it looks acceptable. Barely.
4.5 Sound
Generic hip-hop lacks heart, and in some cases will drive you batty. Car horns and engines are not the real deal.
4.0 Gameplay
Chunky steering control makes things feel entirely robotic. Computer AI opponents can't hide their artificial behavior...they follow some really rigid paths.
5.5 Lasting Appeal
If you can withstand the bland, sluggish gameplay, there's enough challenge here to last an acceptable amount of time.
4.0
Poor OVERALL

Sounds about right. I have NFS underground 2 for the gamecube, and the music they put on there makes me want to shove a fishing Hook down my throat and rip out my guts with it. I ha to mute the music and put on some Music, YES Style. DOnt really like racing, but the game is pretty damn fun, going down the highway at 170 MPH in a freakin mazda

I've never been a fan of Need For Speed.....the ones on PS2 seemed to get good reviews and seem to be popular over here.
