Why do you hate it so?

In Castlevania

ok guys i want to know why everyone hates so much. i loved it, it's what got me into wanting to create video games. the only other game that made me want to make games is Resident Evil 2. well anyways i would love to know what you guys have to say about Castlevania 64 because i also notice there were no threads about it

Man, it's been so long since I played it... Well, I can't remember that much, only that I felt it was clumsy. I remember liking Soul Reaver a hell of a lot more.

I havent had much time to play it really. remember it being OK.

ok its not the worst game ever.

but its pretty bad compared to the others.

i don't HATE it, i just don't LIKE it too much. i got it after beating Legacy or Darkness, which is pretty much the same game only.... better. so when i got CV64 it was already old news and i didn't feel like playing through it. but i must say LoD kicked some ass!

i actually like LoD over SotN.... yeah i said it! i went there! what?! what!?

WOW!

I liked Castlevania 64 up until you had to jump platforms then IT HAD THE WORST CAMERA ANGLES EVER. Seriously that ruined the game for me.

Yes, Daynum actually stated what I was thinking. If I remember correctly, the very first level (going up the cliffs on a couple of parts), and the clock tower were the worst for trying to pull off the platforming in that game. I played it a couple of months ago or so, and I did like it a little more, but the angles were awful at points. Like Commander Campkill said, LoD was better than CV64. It had extra levels that really added to the game. I'm deeply upset by your last comment though

for some reason i can't get into SotN. i think the whole leveling up thing throws me off. i can't really say that i'm an RPG kinda guy.... some day soon i'll give it another chance

Realy?!? i thought the hardest jumping level was when you were carrie on the crystall level and the crystalls keep disapearing under your feet and the other levels where kind of ez........sorry

Is it best to avoid this game entirely then? I was thinking of getting it.

Well, if you've got a good deal on it, jump on it. Just brace yourself for a decent game set with some heavy flaws. I mean, it's not as bad as Superman 64...

Well...it's 10 GBP sealed so I will more than likely pick it up. Even if it isn't fantastic, I can keep it for the collection (I aim to have 50 N64 games by December)

I didn't like this game that much. Its worth a try I guess.

Wow...I thought this was a pretty good game. Sure it's clumsy but it's cinematic and has good storytelling. Like that part where the statue starts crying blood which turns into a Blood-Born.

But why does Death summon a flying fish demon to fight you?

TUNA IS EVIL. For crying out loud, people, I keep telling you that, and nobody listens...
