Tecmo Superbowl #1
By Whittaker on 2/2/2006 5:27:19 AM
I played this game all the time, it was one of my favourites, I had to get special electronic cleaner to make it play most of the time but it was well worth it. Forget about Tecmo Bowl, and all those other football games, this is where it's at, best football game there is on NES.

Tecmo Superbowl is definitly the best football ever created. Does anybody out there know of a way to edit the tecmo superbowl rom for nintendo so that u can have all 32 teams. Is there a way to add 4 more teams , that would be awesome.

In this game. All I know is, oatmeal monsters in covered in blood were trying to kill me. Hitting buttons does nothing, and you control the slowest runners ever.

Tecmo's Best Creation By Far (and the best damn football game ever! Madden sucks compared to this!)
By Tiz89 on 6/8/2004 4:02:26 PM
I saw this game on the list and I was like "I had to review this!" TSB is the "what-a-hell-of-a-sequel" sequel to the well known Tecmo Bowl. The gameplay is like that of its predecessor, but with larger and customizable playbooks, fumbles, tougher defense, incomplete passes, injuries (Season Play only) and an actual season with the actual teams and players of the 1991 season (or 1992, can't remember). They even have home and visitor jersies! Tecmo outdid itself in this game and should come out with a PS2/GCN/XBOX series! Madden will become a "what-the-heck-is-that?" kind of game. Download the 2003 Tecmo Super Bowl rom on Tecmo Super Bowl Haven (or Heaven, forgot) now, or just get the NES (or Genesis) version and enjoy the true starter of the football series (the true starter is my opinion).

10 times better than 10 yard fight
By Jeremy Frank on 5/15/2004 9:18:41 PM
I don't like Football much, But i love this game. 10 yard fight is a Joke. Ok, lets try and run the ball as a whole. what's up with that? Tecmo Superbowl is way better. It has great control, great gameplay, and looks cool as hell. and the best part is there's no Fat-Head Madden talking shit in the backround. Yes football w/ out madden makes football fun.

I dislike football, but I love TECMO.

Do you people know about the Zig-Zagging whilst running? I once played a game using the L.A. or Oakland Raiders and used a Bo Jackson rushing play every time. Got 600+ yards. The Raiders were the best rushing team, the Bills were the best passing team. Andre Reed anyone? Ahhh, the memories!

Tecmo Super Bowl
By Alexzero77 on 12/10/2003 7:55:51 PM
The game is a total waste of time. Even though I bought it today (December 10, 2003) because I just wanted another NES game. 10 Yard Fight may have cheaper graphics, but that fantastic game started the whole Football era for Nintendo. So what I am saying is that 10 Yard Fight is way better and easier the play. On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 meaning bad and 10 meaning awsome) I would give it a 2. Tecmo Super Bowl is a bad game.
P.S: The guy on the game and box gives me nightmares. You know how he stares at you. |

Tecmo Superbowl
By Kendall on 6/28/2003 2:04:01 PM
This was the best ever game nintendo has invented. It playstation 2 or game cube was to come out with this football game(the original version), i would be sure to buy it. Maybe a few tweaks here and there and it would still resemble the orignal copy, the game would be a major hit.

TECMO!!!
By doclouis on 5/16/2003 8:42:17 PM
This game is a classic. The best football game ever. When I was young, I always rent it and two years ago, I've found the SEGA Genesis version of this game who is the same thing for SEGA. When my cousin find the nes version in an old games store, I was so jealous! This game is my choice in football game.

Ahead of its Time
By Eric on 1/31/2003 5:32:27 AM
The number of fan sites for this game says it all. This was an amazing game when it was released. Forget that 10-Yard Fight garbage, this was the football game NES fans were starved for.
Not only did this game feature real NFLPA players like Tecmo Bowl did, but it also featured all 28 (at the time) NFL Football teams.
But it didn't end there. Tecmo put a save feature into the game so that you could actually play out the 1991 season as the team of your choice.
Solid graphic's, excellent gameplay, and fast paced action makes this game stand about above many other NES titles, and solidifies its place as an NES classic. Highly recommended for any football fan. |

Great game
By Alex on 8/13/2002 3:47:46 PM
I discovered TSB about 2 years ago. It really is a nice game. Those people seeking a realistic simulation with great graphics should not buy or download this, though (Hell, those people should stay away from crappy console football games anyway). Of course, it's NES, what do you expect? I've heard people diss the way TSB makes it difficult to pick up fumbles or how bad the little players look, but it's the only game I can think of that has reached perfection through it's imperfections. It doesn't focus it's attention on realism or graphics, but on pure arcade fun. Isn't that what we really want? 8 out of 10 stars, which is pretty good for an NES game.

Best football game ever made! I still find myself playing it all the time. I play both the rom so I can play online and the console version against my friends. Great game for tourneys among buddies.

NFL Football, Made Simple
By Pricetag on 3/13/2001 11:48:21 AM
Tecmo Super Bowl still stands as one of my favorite football games.
The season mode is indepth, with a full 17-week 1991 NFL schedule and playoffs , full stat tracking, player hot and cold streaks, and injuries. Players can control or coach from one to all 28 NFL franchises.
The gameplay keeps it simple and just plain fun so NFL junkies and novice fans alike can enjoy the action. Cinema cutscenes spice up the game without interrupting the flow on the field.
This game is a classic, combining simulation-type season features with an arcade-style football game that blends into pure gaming enjoyment. |
