Over the years many movies became games, Friday the 13th, Aliens, Die Hard, Fifth Element and more. But none of them followed the movie more closly than Rambo.
Rambo is based off the film First Blood part 2. Your primary goal is to take pictures of a Vietnam POW camp. However with the discovery that there are still american soldiers trapped inside you make a judgement call and rescue them. When the americans turn their back on you and you get arrested by the Vietnemise you turn around a kick major ass and destroy a helicoptor.
Now because this is NES there was little room to flesh out the story as the movie did. However the cutscenes (yes I am talking about the primitive 2 sided dialouge boxes) help expand the story more than typical action beat em up.
Now because for the first half of the game you don't actually battle the Vietnamise the programers improvised. It's the jungle, so wild animals. It makes sense. I mean come on, how dull would the game be if for the first hour you don't battle anything adn just run around hopelessly lost.
Overall this is the best movie to game translation and for the sake of arguement one of the best NES games I own, or played. 10 out of 10
