Bases Loaded is Better
By Jeff Turner on 1/12/2005 2:54:22 PM
I think Bases Loaded 1 is better than RBI Baseball. Here is why:
1) Rosters - Ok so RBI has the '86 MLB rosters for the Red Sox, Mets, etc.
Whoooppeee - they only give you 4 pitchers for each team. Not very realistic.
2) Realism - The starting pitchers on RBI can't last more than 3 innings..if this is supposed to be the big leagues, why do these guys run out of gas so fast?? At least on Bases Loaded you can get 5-7 innings out of your starter.
3) Defense - yes the players "flow" around the field easier on RBI, but its easier to catch, throw and pull-off a double play in Bases Loaded.
4) Vs the Computer - on RBI the computer ALWAYS makes a big comeback.
5) Graphics on Bases Loaded are better.

this game is basicaly the same thing as the game called "baseball". the people look the same , but in rbi the view is farther out. and in rbi, you can control the players.

I've played a lot of baseball games in my time, and I must say that this game exhibits the finer points on why baseball is American's favorite pass-time. The game is realistic, magnificent, and is only available on the NES, the best gaming system ever! |

This game is very simple, but it's very fun. I find Bases Loaded 3 to be the best NES baseball game overall, but RBI is still great to kick up for a short game thanks to it's sheer simplicity and fluid hitting/pitching action. Not the best, but simple & fun enough to be your only NES baseball game. For those who like messing with statistics & want their performance rated, check out Bases Loaded 3. Oh yes, RBI Baseball had several sequels, but they changed it completely & tried to immitate the Bases Loaded series and failed miserably, so ignore them.

Limited Playabilty, but a noble effort.

Despite the fact that it is the same as its ascendants, I found the 10 playable teams, and the easy baserunning to take away from the game as a whole...you will be hitting more triples than singles, but it is still very fun.
