I love this game, but I hate those little grey punks at the beginning that chuck spears at you. LOL
I mean, your trying to get a slime, and this little punk gets ya with a spear then runs off. Grrrrr.. Gonna smack him one, and when I get him.. it's like "UHHHH you like that?" haha! :D I'm just joking around. I still have a vendetta against those little dudes..., but let's move on to the review. :D
This game is cool cause you learn Greek mythology as you go etc. It's neat. Sure some say it's a Zelda 2 clone, but I think thats ok because I like seeing other games that were inspired from previous titles. It shows interest in whats out there, and helps make the system have the greatest titles.
Pick this one up if you find it. Good music too. |

Thought this was a good but relatively hard side scroller. Zelda II? I don't think so. The battles in this were much better. Didn't like zelda II much anyways...) And ha, when could Zelda ever walk on ceilings? I couldn't beat it in a year when I was a kid, but now can whoop it less than a day. One thing I liked was there were only a few people you really had to talk to, and they were always in the same place and easy to find.
Liked the plot too :) Was a great game, 8/10 |

| I rated this so highly because my best friend and I used to spend hours playing this, and never getting anywhere, and then waiting for her older brother to come home from high school to defeat all the bosses for us. Ah, memories. Plus Greek mythology is cool. |

Altough this game have almost same plot
as Zelda 2 its still very good game. So
what if its like Zelda 2? Graphics are
good and music is excellent. You are orpheus, a young brave man whose bride has been bitten by a snake. your mission is to collect three pieces of love and free your bride from the hands
of hades. All this is happening in ancient Greek (In my opinion its a good
thing) where you encounter many legendary monsters like sirens, hydras,
cyclopes and many more. This game is not very hard but it isnt very easy too. I beated it about 6-7 hours. One minus comes from that you must sometimes collect an enourmous amounts of olives that you can buy something important item from the ancient gods of mount olympus. Overall this is very good game. Get it if you like games like faxanadu and zelda 2.

| i really dont no y all these people r critizind Battle o f Olympus. good game... very good game. ok it may b alot like The Adventure of Link and that game may b a little bit better but its not like the same exact thing. i dont no y people dont what anymore games like the zelda games even if theyre not as good. this game should get more credit then it does. |

i dunno what the hype about this game is. i played for like, 2 hours and just got pissed off cuz of all those greek names and vague hints; ie: "there's an item somewhere that will help you in the future."
you jump, and swing this goofy lookin club at people. its too tedious and repetitive. and sometimes the gods will talk, and sometimes they wont. about the only variety comes from those shrimpy little dudes that throw spears. but ya get the shield, and they are too easy.
the graphics arent terrible tho. so...
sry, but this game deserves no more than a meager 4 outta 10 happy smile points.

| This to me is a dangerously good rpg. marvellous colours and graphics, excellent musical background and a magnificent gameplay. I simply cannot understand people calling this outstanding game a Zelda-2-rip-off. In fact, even if they did take some ideas of our beloved Zelda 2, what's wrong with that? why not get some influence from one of the best games ever?! I think some people out there have simply been a little too critical. Think twice! Battle of Olympus to me is a definate milestone in the history of NES adventure games. At least a 10 out of 10... |

| This game is a complete rip-off of Zelda II, if you are going to rip-off a nintendo zelda game at least rip the first one off because it is a far superior game. This game has the same game play and setup as zelda II, some of the same enemies and the same basic end boss |

What can i say? Good ol Battle of olympus! Your mission, to save a young damsel in distress from the clutches of evil!
Ah yes i played this game back in the day...Battle of Olympus is an exciting classic game where you visit many strange and wonderous places, ride on dolphins to travel across countries and fly on a winged pegasus
Along the journey you gain new techniques like the ability to fire out electricity from the tip of your sword and the ability to jump and walk on the ceiling!
In my opinion Battle of Olympus is a classic RPG..it's only drawback is the frustrating idea where you trade olives for new items..i.e collect 80 olives for a new sheild. So far sounds good but die in the process of getting 80 and immediately your olive total decreases by half and collecting olives aren't plentiful!
So if you have the time to play a classic RPG of good vs evil then sit back and enjoy a meal of a game :)

Difficult to write a review for this one. Why ? because I played this game AFTER I played Zelda II.
The game has a lott of simularities in graphics with Zelda II, but has a completely different gameplay. It's not a RPG, but more of a mix of RPG and a scrolling game.Which makes it a pretty nice one. You play the role of a young dude, and you'll cruise around in acient Greece, Fighting your way up for peace !
I think this game is very entertaining, but only play it when you didn't play Zelda II, otherwise you'll get comparing the two over and over again. And Battle of Olympus simply loses that comparising, just because Zelda II is a Classic, in every way !
Conclusion: A good game, but just like I said before: only play it when you haven't played Zelda II !!
