Fools!

Why does everyone on this site insist on giving decent reviews to abysmal games?! Not everything old-school was good. (Chubby Cherub, anyone?) How Renegade got anything beyond half a star is beyond me!

This game has good graphics but it takes forever to load. The game is quite hard and it gets a little annoying on some parts. If you like anime, you will like this game. On a scale of 1 to 10, (1 meaning bad and 10 meaning awesome) I would give it a 6.

Uh, I didn't WANT that weapon....

Even though this game sucks in many ways, for me, it's still addictive as the day I bought it when it was new. There's just something about the weird characters and levels that keeps me coming back to this game. That, and the fact that I never have beaten it. One of the big problems is often a weapon you don't want drops on you or traps you in a corner. Would be easier if you didn't have to spend 3/4 of the time looking for armor.
However, the bosses and other enemies are imaginative. Where else can you find giant cookie monster wannabes and weird light-bulb head monsters. I could have sworn I had had some bad drugs when I first saw the tree boss.
According to KLOV (Killer List of Video Games), an arcade version existed of this first, though I've never seen it.
Probably 3 on a 1 to 10 scale.
