This game is no Simon\'s Quest

Taxan and it\'s failure to put up a just game continues in this dull adventure. Knowing the game is from Taxan, I knew what kind of reward I was going to get for initially completing the game...
Armed with a short white twig and a bird, Orin is out to save the day. The game features some strange boss fights, some super easy like India and Spain and some super difficult like Italy and Egypt. The problem with this game is that fails on so many accounts. Unbalnced challenge, poor sound and graphjics, ineffective attacks against repetative enemy encounters, akward control combine to make this game painful virtual reality to explore.
Another thing. Like Simon\'s Quest it has some pretty hard to find, ridiculous secrets. It takes a good while to figure out how to navigate around some of the levels, particularly Africa, in which you have to enter through certain rooms in a certain order. But even so, if theres a quality that this game is up to par with Simon\'s Quest, it\'s the bad ones.
With the plot and strucutre 8 Eyes had, the game could have been much better and much prettier too. A subpar game.

Rethinking multiplayer!

C'mon now. You have to give it more credit than that!
When it really comes down to it, you have to admit, THE GAME IS MUCH BETTER WITH 2 PEOPLE. Me and my brother played this game for hours (He would play as that bird.) If you learn the controls though, you can play on your own and use the bird to help you fight, hit switches and even attack enemies without you, hell, this bird would fly into a bottomless pit if you asked it to! Now that's devotion. Anyway, the game may take some learning, but if you like castlevania, this game might just tide you over till another one comes out. |

8 Eyes my favorite NES video game.

When I was small I played this game, I remember picking the level from 7 castles in a circle and the 8th castle in the middle (they were shaped like an eye) I loved exploring though the levels and beating the bosses. I always couldn't wait untill i beat the seven castles in the middle because I loved the level in the middle because not only is it the last level it's the place where you can fight each boss again one after the other in different rooms of the castle. When I was small my parents sold my system for super nintendo. After my super nintendo wouldn't work, I remembered the sweet fun game 8 eyes. 8 eyes is the only reason why I purchased a NES. I think you people should buy this game because if I bought another NES just for one game, you can bet it's one of the best NES games around.

Similar to Castlevania series, this game rocks! Even if it is hard, it's fun to play!
My rate 7/10 |

8 Eyes

This game bears NO resemblance to Castlevania, other than that it is a sidescrolling, vampire-atmosphered game. You see, Castlevania is actually good and fun to play. The controls on this game are so demanding, it is nearly impossible to get your character to do ANYTHING! If play control is a big issue for you, please do not choose this game. Although I swore I would never get rid of an NES game, I ditched this one for about 10 cents of trade-in credit at the local video game store. ~E.

CV Clone

Basically a clone of Castlevania. Overall an okay sidescroller with pretty good challenge, graphics aren't too bad, sound wasn't all that great though, and the play control wasn't very good either. Download it if you like CV-type games. 3/5
